You can’t cling to your family, and you can’t wait for them to pass away so you may inherit their money. The trailer for this new dark comedy The Fortune has just been published. The film explores the bitter fight over a dying aunt’s estate. On November 4, 2022, just in time for the holiday, the new picture will hit theatres. In The Estate, Toni Collette and Anna Faris portray sisters who are trying to win over their dying (and honestly very picky) aunt so that they might inherit her money. But the two swindlers will soon learn that they aren’t the only relatives to come forward when they hear about their aunt’s deteriorating health.
They will quickly learn that the rest of their family is just as greedy, if not more so, in their pursuit of their aunt’s riches. The new teaser provides an amusing fresh glimpse at the planning, scheming, and attempted incest (oh boy) as well as the stellar ensemble cast. Be ready to witness your favourite actors and actresses at their worst. In the preview, David Duchovny sports a moustache and looks like a nasty lecher. Rosemarie DeWitt, Ron Livingston, and Keyla Monterroso Mejia are on the same mission to recover their aunt’s inheritance.
As the dying aunt, Kathleen Turner stars in the film. And how far does everyone go in their plotting? Well, in one scene that got a lot of attention, Turner’s character mourns the fact that her cancer diagnosis means she will never again experience a man’s touch. Because of this, Duchovny’s character admits that he would want to sleep with his aunt if it were not for the fact that they are related. DeWitt’s character, Beatrice, gives her husband Livingston a sacrifice. Just in time for the holidays, this film will perhaps remind you how much you appreciate your own family.
Dean Craig, who also worked on Death at a Funeral, directs The Estate. Marc Goldberg, Sarah Gabriel, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Alison Benson serve as producers for the movie. When it finally hits cinemas on November 4, 2022, it will be well worth the wait.
