New Season 3 Trailer for ‘His Dark Materials’ Cast, Release Date & Synopsis

A new trailer for the last season of His Dark Materials, HBO’s fantasy series based on the acclaimed Philip Pullman book trilogy, has been published. This new teaser provides us with a taste of the series’ climactic conclusion, which will air for the first time on HBO on Monday, December 5, 2022, at 9:00 PM ET and 11:00 PM PT. The concluding novel in Pullman’s trilogy, The Amber Spyglass, serves as the inspiration for Season 3. Season 3 will be the last one ever broadcast. Like the first two seasons, there will be eight episodes in the third. The universe where human souls manifest as animal companions named “daemons” is explored in the His Dark Materials trilogy, which takes place across several realms.

Lyra Belacqua (also known as Lyra Silvertongue), a young girl, is the protagonist of the series. The show follows a large cast of individuals with varying viewpoints and histories. For those who haven’t read the books, the new teaser reveals the shocking return of Lee (Lin Manuel Miranda), who was presumed dead after Season 2. However, Lyra (Dafne Keen), “the foretold kid,” and Will (Amir Wilson), who carries The Subtle Knife, will be the primary focus of Season 3. The two of them will have to go somewhere from where, as far as everyone knows, no one has ever come back.

Meanwhile, James McAvoy’s character, who plays her father, is getting ready to wage war against the Authority. The new teaser demonstrates the strain of attempting to preserve several planets by showcasing the varying and often intersecting paths taken by our diverse cast of protagonists. Also teased in the clip was Lee’s apparent return to the series. We don’t know how or why he cheated death by coming back from the grave. If you want to know, you’ll have to wait until the third season premieres in December. Ruth Wilson plays Mrs Coulter, Simone Kirby plays Mary Malone, Will Keen plays Father President McPhail, Jade Anouka plays Ruta Skadi, Ruta Gedminstas plays Serafina Pekkala, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje plays Commander Ogunwe, and Jamie Ward plays Father Gomez.

They star alongside Lin Manuel Miranda, Tom Keen, Patrick Wilson, and James McAvoy Bad Wolf and New Line Cinema collaborated on the production of His Dark Materials for BBC One and HBO. HBO Max currently provides access to the first two seasons of the show. On December 5, 2022, at 9:00 PM ET and 11:00 PM PT, HBO will air the season three premiere.
