The ensemble cast for the humorous drama All Happy Families has expanded to include Josh Radnor, Rob Huebel, Becky Ann Baker, Chandra Russell, and John Ashton. The second feature film by Haroula Rose, with executive producer Michael Shannon on board, will begin production in Chicago. Colleen Camp, David Pasquesi, Ivy O’brien, Natalija Nogulich, Antoine McKay, Grammy-winning performer Rodney Crowell, Lena Drake, and Eliza Chin are just some of the names added to the All Happy Families cast. Rose directed All Happy Families and also co-wrote the script with Coburn Goss. Both Liz Cardenas, who just received an Independent Spirit Award for her film 7 Days, and Ian Keiser, who was nominated for both a Gotham and an Independent Spirit Award, serve as producers on the film. Production team members Rose, Goss, and Mary Munez.
Besides Pogi Studios and Attic Light Films, Chicago Media Angels, Neon Heart Productions, Glass Bead Films, Lucky Number 8 Productions, and Pogi Studios all contributed to All Happy Families. Speaking with Deadline, Rose expressed her delight at having cast Radnor in All Happy Families. Radnor, who is best known for his role as the lovelorn Ted Mosby on the hit CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother, will soon be seen in the films Ramona at Midlife and Three Birthdays, both directed by Jane Winestock.
The actor has also appeared in the comedies Liberal Arts and Not Another Teen Movie, both released in 2010, and the drama Happythankyoumoreplease, released in 2010. When Rose and Coburn penned the script, it took on a life of its own, attracting a “dream cast” and “dream production crew,” as Rose put it. Given our longtime connection, I was overjoyed when it was announced that Josh Radnor would be playing Graham. In addition to the tale, there is also a musical component, something I want to include in each and every film I direct. In addition to I Love You, Man, in which he co-stars with fellow HIMYM alum Jason Segel, Huebel can be seen in the comedy Seeking A Friend for the End of the World and A Friend for the End of the World. Baker played Jean Weir on the cult show Freaks and Geeks and has since acted in films including The Half of It.
While she has acted in many short films and the TV series Downtown Girls, All Happy Families is Russell’s first major cinematic role. Ashton has acted in a number of films, including the Beverly Hills Cop flicks as John Taggart and in others where he had a supporting role, such as Midnight Run and Gone Baby Gone.
