The most recent spoilers for Black Clover Chapter 339 suggest that Asta’s preparation for the Hino Country arc will begin soon. Fans are hopeful that @nite baron has once again offered authentic dependable spoilers, despite the fact that these supposed spoilers can’t be verified until the chapter has been officially posted. This leads many to believe that Asta’s training arc has begun and that he is off to a great start thanks to the first thing he’s learnt.
However, the discussion of this lesson in Black Clover Chapter 339 seems to imply a connection between Ki, Sorcery, and Anti-Magic. The comparisons made in Chapter 339 of Black Clover among Ki, Sorcery, and Anti-Magic allude to a shady connection between them. In Chapter 339 of Black Clover, now that he’s completely recovered, Asta starts his training with Yami Ichika and Ryudo Ryuda. After reconnecting with Liebe, they travel to a bamboo grove where youryoku is used to cultivating the bamboo.
youryoku is the phrase used in Hino Country to describe the magical power and ability upon which the Sorcery system is based. Spoilers reveal that Yami Ichika uses youryoku to generate “a tremendous quantity of strength,” slicing a bamboo branch in half. Ryuda interrupts Asta, asking him to focus and get in touch with Ki when Asta initially doubts his ability to do so. He goes on to say that everyone subconsciously manipulates Ki to produce youryoku and that Asta should instead learn to intentionally manipulate Ki with great accuracy.
He then commands him to unleash all his youryoku at once via Ki, stressing that this time he won’t be utilising youryoku but rather anti-magic. Due to the terms of his contract with Liebe, he has access to enough Anti-Magic for this purpose. Asta does so after some prodding from Ryuda and Ichika, as seen by the bamboo stalk withering away as a result of the magical powers of the bamboo reacting with Asta’s Anti-Magic. While this is undoubtedly something to celebrate, readers of Black Clover are wondering if the rumoured revelations for Chapter 339 reveal any links between Ki, Sorcery, and Anti-Magic.
Even while it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Ryuda was able to train Asta by treating his Anti-Magic like ordinary magic, one could wonder why Asta picked up on this so quickly. In addition, it raises the question of why Ichika and the others were so impressed with Asta’s performance. Their astonishment would be unwarranted if one could just treat Anti-Magic like one would Sorcery or any other magic-based system.
Yuki Tabata, the series creator and illustrator, makes a point to highlight the audience’s astonishment repeatedly. Given their rank as Ryuzen Seven or equivalent, they may have a deeper understanding of Anti-Magic and its relationship to Ki and Sorcery. Even though this was Fumito’s first encounter with a monster like Liebe, in Chapter 339 of Black Clover, he had little trouble curing Liebe of his wounds. As revealed in Black Clover Chapter 339, Liebe was able to make a full recovery thanks in part to some obscure knowledge of Anti-Magic, even if Hino Country had no prior experience with demons.
Since Ki and Sorcery are already unique among the Power Systems we’ve seen in the series, it’s reasonable to assume that Anti-Magic is somehow connected to, if not directly based on, these other methods. All of this, however, is conjectural at this point, as the official publication of Chapter 339 is still a few days away from the writing of this article. If the rumours about these power systems and their history are accurate, then fans may soon find out that there’s more to them than they bargained for.
