Tulsa King, Paramount+’s next original series starring Academy Award contender Sylvester Stallone, has a stunning new teaser trailer. On November 13, Paramount+ will debut the first two episodes of the new series. Stallone stars as Dwight “The General” Manfredi, a New York mob leader who is exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma after being freed from jail after serving 25 years. Manfredi, without the support of his family, recruits a new group of “unlikely people” and embarks on a mission to create a criminal empire. In the new 90-second teaser, audiences get their first glimpse at Stallone in the role, as he is released from prison and brought to the little Oklahoma town, where he quickly realises that he is a bit of an outsider.
In the process of “meeting” the locals, he knocks out a cannabis store security and is fired at by a masked gunman, both of which are, in reality, simply another day on the job. The teaser shows him gathering an army, and in a voiceover, Sylvester Stallone declares, “In a couple of years, I’m going to control this city.” All-stars like Andrea Savage (I’m Sorry), Max Casella (The Tender Bar), Martin Starr (Silicon Valley), Domenick Lombardozzi (The Irishman), Vincent Piazza (Boardwalk Empire), Jay Will (The Marvelous Mrs Maisel), A.C. Peterson (Superman & Lois), Garrett Hedlund (The United States vs. Billie Holiday), and Dana Delany (The Fugitive) (Body of Proof).
Taylor Sheridan, who also developed Yellowstone, is behind this new series for Paramount+, which joins the already released 1883 and Mayor of Kingstown and the forthcoming Lioness, 1883: The Bass Reeves Story, Land Man, and 1932 on his busy schedule of projects. Along with Stallone and Emmy winner Terence Winter (The Sopranos, The Wolf of Wall Street), Sheridan takes on the role of executive producer. Winter will also serve as a showrunner and writer. In addition to David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Allen Coulter, and Braden Aftergood will serve as executive producers. MTV and 101 Studios are responsible for making the show. On November 13, after the Season 5 premiere of Yellowstone, the first two episodes of Tulsa King will debut on Paramount+.
Synopsis
Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Stallone) is the head of the New York Mafia, and the story of “Tulsa King” begins shortly after he is freed from jail after serving 25 years and is sent to Tulsa, Oklahoma, without any fanfare from his boss. Recognizing the possibility that his mafia family might not have his best interests at heart, Dwight gradually assembles a “crew” of misfits to help him construct a criminal empire in a location that might as well be another planet.
