The official trailer for the forthcoming romantic comedy The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry has been published by Vertical Entertainment. The film will follow the narrative of a despondent bookshop owner whose life is turned upside down after a small kid is abandoned at his store, and is based on Gabrielle Zevin’s 2014 best-selling novel of the same name. Hans Canosa helms The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry, which Zevin wrote the script for. Kunal Nayyar, Lucy Hale, Christina Hendricks, Blaire Brown, Lauren Stamile, David Arquette, and Scott Foley are among the film’s stars.
Lucy Hale’s role, a publishing business employee, is introduced in the trailer taking a boat to the bookshop owned by the titular character, who shows zero interest in hearing her pitch. The video then cuts to a shot of A.J. Fikry’s miserable life as a widowed alcoholic who has given up on living. When Maya, a child, is left at A.J.’s bookstore, however, everything starts to shift. The teaser suggests the film will cover several years, with a somewhat older Maya and a transformed A.J. initiating a relationship with the publishing business employee he had previously rejected. The official trailer for The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry suggests a touching and amusing drama about heartbreak, second chances, and the power of love.
The MPA has given The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry a PG-13 rating due to certain thematic themes and brief harsh language. In its current form, the movie is 1 hour 45 minutes long. Levin, along with director Canosa, Claude Dal Farra, Brian Keady, and Kelsey Law, acts as a producer on the picture. Nayyar, Hale, and Hendricks, who play leads in the film, also serve as executive producers. Premiering in theatres on October 7 is The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry.
