The first trailer for Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning, Part 1 has been published by Paramount Pictures. The teaser drops only hours after we got our hands on a new behind-the-scenes film of actor Tom Cruise undertaking some risky stunts for the highly anticipated sequel. Beginning with a montage of Cruise’s and his team of spies’ foreign travels, the teaser for the forthcoming Mission: Impossible film sets the stage. Images of a vast desert, a packed nightclub, and a standard European downtown are shown. There’s also a brief view of a train engine, which is said to serve as the setting for one of the series’ most exciting action sequences.
Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One may involve the most dangerous stunts of Cruise’s career, as he leapt over a cliff on a motorbike and was seen hanging from an aircraft in promotional material for the film. The teaser also hints at the narrative of the sequel, with Cruise’s Ethan Hunt being forced to pick a side in a fight to control the truth about good and evil. Given that Ethan is not likely to join forces with any sort of dictatorial authority, we may assume that he will once again be pursued by a lethal foe. Mission: Impossible 7’s release date has been pushed back several times due to the pandemic. The original release date was 2021.
Because of how long the film took to make, production on the eighth instalment in the series began before the seventh film had even opened in theatres. The next two Mission: Impossible films will arrive a year apart, so fans won’t have to wait too long between instalments even if it’s been a while since the last film. Christopher McQuarrie, who directed the fifth and sixth Mission: Impossible films, also wrote and directed the upcoming eighth film, Dead Reckoning.
Mission: Impossible – Fallout, the sixth film in the series, broke box office records with almost $790 million earned throughout the world. Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, and Frederick Schmidt will all reprise their roles from the previous film, in addition to Cruise, in Dead Reckoning. A number of new actors have been added to the cast, including Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Shea Whigham, Esai Morales, Rob Delaney, Charles Parnell, Indira Varma, Mark Gatiss, Greg Tarzan Davis, and Cary Elwes. On July 14, 2023, cinemas will release Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning, Part 1. The release date for Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning 2 is set for June 28, 2024.
