Kiernan Shipka will star with Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans in “Red One”, Synopsis, Release Date & Cast Details

According to Deadline, Kiernan Shipka will be appearing in the upcoming holiday feature Red One on Prime Video. She’ll be joining Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Chris “Captain America” Evans in the starring roles. Hiram Garcia, president of Johnson’s Seven Buck Productions, first pitched the idea for the production, describing it as “Hobbs-meets Miracle on 34th Street,” and the streamer ultimately won the bidding war for the rights to air it last year. Red One is being billed as a globe-hopping, four-quadrant action-adventure comedy that is inventing a whole new universe to explore within the holiday genre, while information about the characters played by Shipka, Evans, and Johnson as well as the narrative are being kept securely under wraps. Johnson will be working with Welcome to the Jungle and The Next Level director Jake Kasdan again on this picture.

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, The Fate of the Furious, Furious 7, Fast & Furious 6, and Fast Five were all films on which he collaborated with Seven Bucks and Johnson. In addition to her role as Sally Draper on AMC’s Emmy-winning series Mad Men, Shipka is well-known for her portrayal of the beloved Sabrina Spellman on Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. The actor’s forthcoming projects include Blumhouse’s Totally Killer (a horror comedy) for Netflix, Wildflower (alongside Alexandra Daddario and Jean Smart) for Matt Snukler (world premiere: TIFF) and HBO’s The White House Plumbers. Evans is now enjoying the popularity of his recent films, including Pixar’s Lightyear and the Russo Brothers’ The Gray Man, in which he starred with Ryan Gosling and Ana de Armas. H

e also co-stars with de Armas in the forthcoming Ghosted, a film from Apple. In October, Johnson will make his debut as a comic book hero in the DC film Black Adam, with Noha Centineo, Pierce Brosnan, Aldis Hodge, and Quintessa Swindell, among others. Kasdan and Melvin Mar of The Detective Agency’s Seven Bucks Productions are responsible for Red One. Johnson, together with Hiram Garcia and Dany Garcia as producers, and Sky Salem Robinson as a co-producer, will make this happen. Production on the film is scheduled to begin this year, with a release date set for 2023. Red One’s release date has not been announced, however, it will be available on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories across the world.
