There’s some good news regarding The Good Doctor: a teaser trailer for the upcoming sixth season has been released one month before the launch. ABC’s medical drama, produced by Daniel Dae Kim and David Shore, will return for a second season on October 3, promising more high-stakes action and drama. The 6th season of The Good Doctor will begin up just where the fifth season left off, as teased in the official teaser for the next season, which can be watched on ABC’s official Youtube page. When the thirty-second teaser video begins, Dr Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) and his new bride, Lea Dilallo (Paige Sparra), are dancing on the rooftop of St. Bonaventure Hospital with their loved ones looking on. Murphy responds with a grin to Dilallo, “I’m extremely thrilled,” seemingly unaware of the uproar happening below them.
After Dr Audrey Lim (Christina Chang) says “I’m harmed” on her phone, the following shot shows her apparently dying as blood pools around her. Due to poor reception, Dr Marcus Andrews (Hill Harper) is unable to hear her cries for help after she was stabbed at the conclusion of Season 5. Her fate remains unknown to viewers. The teaser hints at folks getting into trouble and show Murphy’s eagerness to help. Murphy declares, “[They] need my aid,” as he prepares to descend the elevator despite Dilallo’s warnings that doing so would put his life in danger. Evidenced by brief shots of police caution tape, an angry Owen Gottfried (David Cubitt) declaring that there are “three hostages,” and a subsequent sight of a scrub-clad Lea sobbing into her hands.
When the show returns, you can be sure the stakes will be tremendous, as teased in the teaser. Proof of this is provided by a scene in which a distraught Murphy, his shirt stained with blood, begs Jerome (Giacomo Baessato) not to touch him as he is carried out of a hospital ward. Season six’s teaser suggests that some regular cast members will be back for more action. In addition to Highmore and Sparra’s Murphy and Dilallo, the season six trailer features the return of Fiona Gubelmann’s Dr Morgan Reznick, Noah Galvin’s Dr Asher Wolke, and Richard Schiff’s Dr Aaron Glassman.
In The Good Doctor, an autistic surgeon with savant syndrome in San Jose, California, saves lives despite his colleagues’ scepticism of his powers. The American adaptation of the South Korean drama premiered in 2017 and has now completed five seasons. In case you missed it, season five centres on the wedding preparations Murphy and Dilallo are juggling with their careers. On October 3, ABC will begin streaming Season 6 of “The Good Doctor.” Hulu presently has seasons 1–5.
