The new teaser for Netflix’s upcoming science fiction series The Imperfects features three unique “guinea pigs” who vow to “strike back” at those who have harmed their humanity and will soon jeopardise others’. The Order’s Shelley Eriksen and Dennis Heaton, who also developed, wrote, and executive produced the Netflix supernatural series that was cancelled after two seasons, teamed up again to create, write, and produce the series The Imperfects. It tells the story of a group of young adults who are subjected to experiments without their knowledge or agreement.
Three young people (a Banshee, a Chupacabra, and a Succubus) underwent experiments that gave them the talents and superpowers of monsters from popular and folklore. From the get-go, we see the ethically perverted Dr Sarkov (Rhys Nicholson) evaluating Juan (Iaki Godoy), who is obviously having weird issues as a result of his studies. And he isn’t alone, either. All of Sarkov’s test subjects, including Juan, Abbi (Rhianna Jagpal), and Tilda (Morgan Taylor Campbell), are in their twenties, and they have all had “unfortunate side effects.”
The trailer then on to introduces each character before showing small clips of their unique talents, such as the Banshee’s shriek or the Succubus’s allure. It becomes clear that despite being forced into the role of “guinea pigs,” the three buddies will not take abuse without retaliation. Nomadic Pictures, which also produced Eriksen and Heaton’s previous series The Order, has added Chad Oakes and Michael Frislev to its executive producing roster. Italia Ricci, Kyra Zagorsky, and Celina Martin round out the cast. The Imperfects, a 10-episode series with around hour-long instalments, will premiere on Netflix on September 8.
