New footage from the forthcoming second season of the smash hit Disney+ revival The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers has arrived, and it’s time for the Ducks to take to the skies once more. Season 2 of the show will begin on the streaming service on Wednesday, September 28 with fresh episodes dropping every Wednesday after that. The new trailer for the sequel series to the classic 1990s films features the Mighty Ducks attending Epic, a top-tier summer hockey school in California led by series newcomer Colin Cole, played by Josh Duhamel (Transformers, When in Rome), who is described as a “charming but hardcore former NHL player-turned-coach.” The preview demonstrates the passionate group overcoming training obstacles. Season two begins a year after the original when the misfits reclaimed the title of the Mighty Ducks.
The squad and their new coach, Alex Morrow (Lauren Graham of “Parenthood” and “Gilmore Girls”), will have to adapt to a demanding and physically taxing environment. The official summary for the season is, “As our Ducks attempt to survive in this super-competitive climate, they are forced to ask: Can you win summer?” Graham and Duhamel, together with season one regulars Brady Noon, Maxwell Simkins, Swayam Bhatia, Luke Islam, Taegen Burns, and DJ Watts, are poised to lead the show’s upcoming second season. Naveen Paddock will be joining the returning cast members as regular cast members.
In January, it was reported that original film star Emilio Estevez would not be returning for the second season. Cathy Yuspa and Josh Goldsmith, who ran the first season of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, are back for more. They’re not the only ones behind the scenes, though; Graham, George Heller, Brad Petrigala, Jordan Kerner, Jon Avnet, and Steve Brill are all executive producers, too. ABC Signature is responsible for producing the Disney-branded TV show. On September 28, fresh episodes of Season 2 of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changer will begin streaming on Disney+. The first season is accessible in its entirety on the streaming platform.
