Five more actors have joined the cast of Poker Face, an original mystery series for Peacock from creator/director Rian Johnson. Deadline states that Clea DuVall, Angel Desai (Law & Order), and Shane Paul McGhie (whose role is yet unknown) have all joined the cast (American Skin). Along with Jasmine Aiyana Garvin, the cast also includes Leslie Silva, who was featured in Women of the Movement. The cast’s individual roles and responsibilities are still under wraps. Natasha Lyonne (Orange is the New Black), Adrian Brody (The Pianist), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (who worked with Johnson in Looper), Jameela Jamil (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law), and Tim Meadows are among the previously revealed cast members (Mean Girls).
Poker Face has an ensemble cast that includes Stephanie Hsu (Everything, Everywhere, All at Once), David Castaeda (The Umbrella Academy), Benjamin Bratt (Law & Order), Chlo Sevigny (We Are Who We Are), Simon Helberg (The Big Bang Theory), and Dascha Polanco (In the Heights). Several more performers, including Nick Nolte (Warrior), Tim Blake Nelson (O Brother, Where Art Thou? ), Ron Perlman (Hellboy), and Charles Melton (Riverdale), have been announced to feature in the next mystery series.
Despite the lack of known plot points, additional information is sure to surface as the series’ debut date draws nearer. In addition to creating the series, Johnson will also act as its writer and director. Johnson’s past directing credits include the critically acclaimed film Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Beyond Johnson and Lyonne, the show’s executive producers also include Ram Bergman, Nena Rodriguez, Maya Rudolph, and Danielle Renfrew Behrens. Johnson also directed Poker Face on Peacock, which was released on October 24, and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, which will premiere on Netflix on December 23 of this year. Knives Out, starring Daniel Craig and premiered in 2019, was a whodunit mystery that received rave reviews and this picture will act as a sequel to that film. There is currently no specific date for the Poker Face release because manufacturing is still ongoing.
