Do you have an extensive Rob Zombie record collection and need a new addition? To that end, we have some information to share with you. Forget about it; the undisputed king of all things eerie and frightening has now announced the release of a brand new song based on The Munsters. Hear the classic “I Got You Babe” by Sonny & Cher performed by Herman (Jeff Daniel Phillips) and Lily Munster (Sheri Moon Zombie) in a whole new light.
The director informed his followers that the 12″ single was now available for purchase through Waxwork Records on Instagram, of all places. The album cover is vibrantly coloured in a style reminiscent of the swinging ’60s, with plenty of yellows, purples, oranges, and greens. The record and its cover are included in the post as well, with the record’s cheery yellow hue serving to improve readers’ dispositions.
Herman and Lily, obviously head over heels in love, are depicted wearing bell bottoms and clunky boots while striking a romantic pose on the album’s inside sleeve. This CD featuring Lily and Herman is the follow-up to the first record based on Zombie’s recreated version of the 1960s CBS family series. Just a few weeks ago, it was reported that he will be unleashing an album focused upon everyone’s favourite TV personality and Crumble Creatures Crackers spokes-ghoul, Zombo. Two songs, “It’s Zombo” and “House of Zombo,” as well as a visually spectacular record sleeve and cover, will be included on that CD.
After establishing his fame in the music industry with his heavy metal band White Zombie, the multi-talented artist shifted gears and began making some of the most disgusting and horrible films ever. His dedication to and appreciation of music has always shone through in his film work, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that The Munsters will follow suit. Soon, audiences will be able to see Zombie, a vibrant genesis story about the early days of Lily and Herman’s romance. The film will be available on Blu-ray, digital, and DVD on September 27, and it will be added to Netflix at a later point this autumn.
The film will also star Daniel Roebuck, Cassandra Peterson, Richard Brake, Jorge Garcia, and Catherine Schell, all of whom are well-known figures from the Zombie franchise and beyond. Butch Patrick and Pat Priest, from the original The Munsters series, will also make cameo appearances.
