Adult Swim has released the first trailer for Aqua Teen Forever: Phantasm, a movie that will bring back the popular adult animation series Aqua Teen Hunger Force. In the movie, Frylock (Carey Means), Master Shake (Dana Snyder), and Meatwad (Dave Willis) will reunite to take on a formidable new foe. If, of course, they manage to accomplish some heroic tasks. Aqua Teen Hunger Force is a cartoon created by Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis about a team of superpowered fast food items that are the size of humans. Frylock, a bearded sack of french fries whose eyes fire elemental lasers, comes first. Meatwad, the youngest sibling, is a shapeshifting meatball.
Then there’s Master Shake, the middle sibling, who can spill a bowl of ice cream with a single shake of his straw. Which, if you fall on it, maybe rather harmful. Though the concept of fast food combatting crime is ridiculous on its own, at least the crew in the show puts their abilities to good use. Instead, the three of them are perpetually struggling to make it through adulthood. In the original series, every major character was killed off several times, only to return in one piece in the following episode due to the lack of permanent continuity in the programme. It was in September of 2001 that Aqua Teen Hunger Force made its debut on Adult Swim.
After 11 seasons, the programme was officially cancelled. 2007’s Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters became Adult Swim’s 1st theatrical release, which highlights the importance of this brand for adult animation. Recently, Adult Swin published a YouTube shorts series called Aquadonk Side Pieces, in which each episode features one of the series’ recurring antagonists—including MC Pee Pants, Happy Time Harry, and Hand Banana.
Of the new film, Willis said: “Maiellaro and I are pleased to finally deliver book IIV of the Aqua Teen Plantasm series on the large screen that is small and inside your house. It’s hilarious and enjoyable, with vibrant illustrations that move quickly enough to keep the eye engaged yet not produce motion sickness. Relish in the fresh animation we just released! Get lost in the well-developed plot and adult subjects. This is not your grandad’s Aqua Teen! Also, this movie has none superheroes in it.
The Aqua Teen Hunger Force promises no superhumans, period. Also, no Star Wars merch. This is not the film for you if you’re hoping to see Yoda or a Star Destroyer. To what extent do you question my word? See the film. And if you don’t like it, your “hot take” isn’t worth listening to since you have no taste. I just gave you a trollin’, kid. Send your senseless tweets of wrath to @adultswim now. Let there be lightning! Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm has not yet been given a release date.
