New Release Date for Season 2 of “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers”: Synopsis & Cast Details

A return of the Quack Attack is imminent! The second season of Disney+’s smash remake The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers will premiere on September 28. The debut date of the second season of the motivational sports drama starring Lauren Graham was revealed today by the streaming giant (Parenthood, Gilmore Girls). The fan-favourite show is a continuation of the classic Mighty Ducks films from the ’90s and is set in modern-day Minnesota, where the Mighty Ducks have evolved into a formidable youth hockey juggernaut. The season picks off where the first one left off, with the heart-and-soul club and its coach Alex Morrow (Graham) on the road after reclaiming the Mighty Ducks moniker.

The squad is spending the summer in California at an intensive hockey institution, where they can improve on their game without worrying about schoolwork. In January, it was reported that Josh Duhamel (Transformers, When in Rome) would be taking over the role of coach Gordon Bombay previously played by Emilio Estevez (The Way, the original Mighty Ducks flicks). Colin Cole, played by Duhamel, is the stern yet charismatic head coach of a prestigious hockey academy. Cole, a seasoned hockey veteran, is expected to mentor the team’s youthful players in their sophomore year. Amid the intense competition, our Ducks must ask themselves, “Can you win summer?” according to the official plot summary for the future season. Brady Noon (Greg in the upcoming 2021 Diary of a Wimpy Kid film adaptation), Maxwell Simkins (The Sleepover, Bizaardvark), Swayam Bhatia (Succession, Master of None), Julee Cerda (Blindspot, Manifest), Luke Islam (Carlos in the upcoming 13: The Musical film adaptation), Bella Higginbotham (Troop Zero), Taegen Burns (The Gateway, I Can Only (Black Panther, The House with a Clock in Its Walls).

Along with ABC Signature, executive producers include Graham, Steve Brill, George Heller, Brad Petrigala, Jordan Kerner, and Jon Avnet. As of right now, you may watch the first season of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers on Disney+.
