The Working Title of the ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Sequel Teases an Origin Story for the Massive Monsters

The working title “Origins” has been given to the widely anticipated Godzilla vs. Kong 2 sequel, hinting that the future film would investigate the origins of the Titans and the ancient civilisation that once inhabited Hollow Earth. The revelation was first reported by 7News Brisbane in Australia just a few days after production began on the sequel. KDM Monsters, a Twitter user, corroborated the rumour with a shot from the set. Godzilla vs. Kong featured an irascible, lizard-killing monkey named Kong, who travelled to Hollow Earth in search of a weapon with which he might defeat Godzilla.

We discovered throughout our journey through Hollow Earth that people had formerly lived there and had constructed massive temples to honour Kong’s ancestors. Even in one image, we find a throne room with a secret entrance hidden in the base of a chair, implying that humans and monsters formerly coexisted together. Interested audiences have been wondering where the MonsterVerse is headed since Godzilla vs. Kong opened in theatres. The beginnings of Hollow Earth look like an intriguing idea for a cinematic feature. On Earth, Godzilla reigned supreme while Kong roamed free in the Hollow Earth jungles, where he remained a free man for the duration of Godzilla vs. Kong.

As a result, if Hollow Earth 2 delves into the past, we may probably expect to encounter the gigantic gorilla again. There has been no official announcement from Legendary or Warner Bros. regarding Godzilla vs. Kong 2, but the working title generally refers to the key themes or story components of a particular film. As a result, the MonsterVerse has given us a huge hint as to where the series is headed by designating “Origins” as a temporary term.
Even if Godzilla is slated to return for another MonsterVerse film, focusing the sequel on Kong makes sense.

Apple TV+ is now working on a Godzilla and the Titans series that will explore the various monsters from the franchise’s prior films but was never given much screen time. To chronicle a family’s struggle to live in a monster-infested world following the devastation of San Francisco in Godzilla: King of the Monsters, a new series has been developed. A sequel to Godzilla Vs. Kong will release on March 15, 2024. An air date for Godzilla and the Titans has yet to be announced.
