New audio and sound alterations have been uncovered in Grand Theft Auto Online’s most recent update, which may be preparing the game’s Expanded and Improved version for release in 2022, according to one data miner. The newest addition to GTA Online’s content Yesterday, Rockstar Games launched The Contract, one of the most significant post-launch updates in the company’s history. The latest update brings back Franklin Clinton, Chop the Dog, and Lamar from GTA V, as well as new exclusive music from Dr. Dre, a new radio station, weaponry, and other quality of life changes.
Although Grand Theft Auto V has been out for almost a decade, it is still one of Rockstar’s most successful and well-known games. Since its last-gen rerelease, the game’s core gameplay and plot have remained mostly unchanged, although the online sandbox mode has seen significant updates since 2015, bringing new features and expanding the world of the game. Grand Theft Auto V will be re-released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S early next year because of its enormous user base and sustained commercial success. Improved aesthetics and gameplay, faster loading times, and additional features yet to be released will make the current-generation remaster different from prior versions of the game for next-generation users.
Rockstar Games appears to be getting ready for a sequel to Grand Theft Auto 5 with the release of the game’s Enhanced Edition. Updated information on the new update was discovered by Monkeypolice188 on Twitter, revealing various audio changes to the game’s base version, which is something that has never been done previously by the developer. This features sounds from Franklin, themes from missions completed, a new style of loading screen music, and many more. There are a few things that aren’t included in the latest build but can be found in the game’s files, which suggests they’re being readied for the game’s Enhanced Edition, which is expected to be released soon.
When it comes to new features, the Contract expansion leans heavily on audio. Several new songs and in-game radio stations, including one hosted by Spanish singer and songwriter ROSALIA and Venezuelan musician Arca, have been made available as a result of Dr. Dre’s participation in Grand Theft Auto Online. It’s also possible to take on music-related missions and cooperate with the music agency to expand economic endeavors.
In 2021, Rockstar is expected to release the Grand Theft Auto 5 Expanded & Enhanced Edition, so The Contract update could be the last piece of post-content for the game. For now, it’s not clear whether the audio tweaks were leftover or whether Rockstar is successfully prepping for the forthcoming rerelease. There will be more to learn about the Enhanced Edition’s arrival in 2022, however, as it’s just a few months away.
