An Animal Crossing: New Horizons players recently showed off their in-game recreation of Luigi’s Mansion 3 with the help of a ghost who lives in the game world. Luigi’s Mansion 3 came out a little more than a year before Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It will be on the Nintendo Switch in late 2019. The game is the third installment of the unique, spooky Luigi-focused game. It is thought to be the best in the series.
Because Luigi’s Mansion 3 was released three years ago, there has been a lot of DLC updates to keep things interesting. This kept people interested in the ghost-centric Super Mario Bros. spin-off. DLC added new mini-games and other features to the game, but spooky ghouls remain at the heart of the game’s story. In Luigi’s Mansion 3, King Boo is an important antagonist. KING BOOO IS A LARGE, WHITE GHOST. He is known for his sparkling jewel crown, pink eyes, and purple tongue. Since 2001, King Boo has been one of the most dangerous enemies in the Super Mario Bros. series.
In the game, an Animal Crossing: New Horizons player named acnhsulky recently showed off their recreation of Luigi’s Mansion 3. At the same time, acnhsukly dressed their playable character in Luigi-style clothes, including his “L” logoed green paperboy cap and blue suspender outfit. To make the whole thing even better, though, Wisp, a village ghoul, was given a crown to look like Luigi’s Mansion 3 antagonist King Boo. Even though Wisp isn’t as big as King Boo, he looks very much like the notorious ghost. At the same time, they gave their playable character a vacuum cleaner, which was Luigi’s weapon of choice when he made scary games. To make their version of Luigi’s Mansion 3 even better, acnhsulky made their surrounding structure look like a decrepit, eerie mansion.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons often sees fan-made collaborations with other games. The Legend of Zelda is a popular source of ideas for people who play Animal Crossing. Some people recreate the game’s setting, Hyrule, on their ACNH islands. When an Animal Crossing player did this, he or she made a copy of the entrance to the Lost Woods, which is a scary and foreboding part of the game’s map, just like the Luigi’s Mansion games. As a result, the player who built the entrance to the Lost Woods took a picture of it on a day when there was both snow and thick fog to make it look even better. Animal Crossing’s islands are usually pretty sunny and clear.
When an ACNH player makes a version of Luigi’s Mansion 3, they don’t make their own version of the game. This isn’t the first or last time an ACNH player makes a version of a game from a different game series. NPCs are very common in fan-made, in-game projects, but Wisp isn’t very often seen in these projects. Perhaps other people will use Wisp’s character now that acnhsulky has used the ghost so well in their Luigi’s Mansion 3 recreation.
