It looks like a huge sandwich is hidden in the game’s campaign. Following the early launch and beta testing of the multiplayer modes, Halo Infinite’s campaign is a separate download that was released just this week to a lot of praise. The long delay that the game had after its poor performance in 2020 seems to have mostly paid off.
If you’ve played the Halo games, you’ve probably seen a lot of easter eggs over the years. They’re little hidden surprises in the games. A giant soccer ball and a plasma rifle were hidden in the same level in Halo 2. If you play Halo 3, you’ll see monkey people with developers’ faces on them. In Halo Reach, there was even a secret dance club where Covenant soldiers were having fun. One of the Halo community’s favorite things to do has always been to look for and share these different “Easter Eggs.” The full release of Halo Infinite keeps that pastime going.
An important easter egg in the game has been found by Infinite Forges, who shared the news about it on Twitter. They use the grappling hook to get to a ledge at the top of a cave in one of Halo Infinite’s many campaign missions, which is a lot of fun to play through. In a tunnel that’s on top of the ledge, there is a huge sandwich with Grunts who stand in awe and reverence around it. There is also a faint sound coming from the sandwich.
Others say this sandwich cave is near a camp for the banished on the southeastern edge of the first landmass in the game. The large cave system outside the outpost is full of more Banished troops, and there’s a large Forerunner structure in the middle of the cave system, too. By climbing up to the ledge at the top of this room, you can find the secret sandwich. As a bad thing, there isn’t a reward for finding it.
People who play Halo Infinite’s campaign have only been able to play for a few days, but they’ve already found a lot of hidden things. A “greatest hits” album by Craig the Brute is one of them. An invisible gun that shoots tank shells is also on the list. It’s great to see people playing Halo again, and it’s encouraging to see so many hidden things in the game’s open world. The Halo Infinite community can’t wait to find out more about the game in the months and years to come, and maybe even years.
