Thanks to a fan’s recent unveiling of their invention of such an ornament, fans of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild may now see the entire land of Hyrule on their Christmas tree. Expansive landscapes, ranging from forests to mountains to deserts to villages and cities, are depicted in fine detail in the ornament. The Kingdom of Hyrule on an ornament is just as impressive as it is on Nintendo’s award-winning game, which was just nominated for Ultimate Game of All Time at the 2021 Golden Joystick Awards.
Hyrule’s expansive landmass and fascinating past are well-known to anybody who has played Breath of the Wild, and both are regularly intertwined throughout the series’ narrative heritage. A fantastic feature of the latest open-world RPG in the series is that it allows players to discover new things each time they revisit Link’s quest. When BOTW 2’s release date is looming, it’s a good idea to re-explore Hyrule before moving on to the next chapter in the series. The release date for Breath of the Wild 2 is still up in the air, but those who can’t wait to learn more about Hyrule’s history can find clues and messages throughout the original game.
An ornament based on the Breath of the Wild video game was created by a Reddit member for Christmas. Whengeekscraft, the creator of the ornament, posted it on the game’s subreddit to much acclaim. One of many holiday-themed creations based on the maps of other popular games was revealed in the post by whengeekscraft. There were some users who made offers despite the fact that the ornament’s maker claimed that it was for display purposes and was not for sale. Additionally, the site includes a YouTube video that shows how the mini-map ornament is put together.
Fanart and other tributes to the game Breath of the Wild routinely appear on the internet. Cosplay and sketches of characters and locations are popular pastimes among fans of the game and the greater Legend of Zelda series. The Hyrule Castle in The Legend of Zelda: Animal Crossing was recently speed built using elements from the social simulation game by a gamer. The Kingdom of Hyrule has appeared in many forms and timelines throughout the Legend of Zelda series as the setting for each game.
It’s possible that whengeekscraft will create the ornament (or a similar variant) for sale before Christmas Day. Fan-created BOTW Korok-themed Christmas cards are a good alternative if the official Zelda merchandise is unavailable. The need for additional Zelda-themed holiday goods is perfectly understandable, anyway.
