Marvel’s Avengers will soon feature Thor’s iconic armor from the 2012 Marvel Cinematic Universe film The Avengers. Playable characters include Iron Man, Captain America, Black Panther, and Thor in Crystal Dynamics’ multiplayer action game. Marvel’s Avengers’ MCU-inspired outfit roster has developed significantly over the past year, even though the title was originally launched without them.
Marvel’s Avengers has a live-service model, which means that new material is continually being released for free. Players will be able to experience new heroes, new locales, and new narratives as a result of this support. A robust microtransaction system, on the other hand, enables players to exchange real-world money for in-game cosmetics like costumes, nameplates, and removal animations. Skins from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) can only be purchased through the Marketplace, so if you want to look like Iron Man 2’s suitcase armor or Captain America: The Winter Soldier from Avengers: Endgame, you’ll have to shell out real money to do it. Fans who wish to personalize the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes for free have been enraged by the inclusion of $3,000 in in-game cosmetics in Marvel’s Avengers.
Thor’s armor from 2012’s The Avengers has been revealed by Marvel’s Avengers on Twitter as the newest live-action replica. After assembling in New York City, the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes face off against the Chitauri with Chris Hemsworth posing as Loki. God of Thunder armor has been faithfully recreated in Avengers: Infinity War, just like in prior MCU games. Mjolnir has a new design rather than recycling the original hammer design from the video game, and the model’s hair and beard resemble Hemsworth’s appearance in 2012. On December 9, Marvel’s Avengers will include Thor in his MCU-inspired attire.
Though Crystal Dynamics recently created a new mechanism to help players acquire outfits without spending real money, many fans have criticized Marvel’s Avengers’ concentration on microtransactions. Unlike traditional loot boxes, players can see exactly what they’ll get when they buy Shipments, the game’s new prize system. Instead of Credits, which must be purchased with real-world money, shipments can be purchased with Units, which players earn by just playing the game. Players can now gain cosmetic things just by playing the game, but some items, like MCU uniforms, are still available only via the Marketplace.
In 2020, Marvel’s Avengers had a rough start, but Crystal Dynamics appears to be taking user input into account and improving the game. As a huge fan request for many months, the MCU skins have exceeded expectations in terms of accuracy and realism. The game faithfully recreates Thor’s armor from the 2012 film The Avengers, allowing players to unleash their inner thunder.
