[Updated] Spoilers for Mushoku Tensei Season 2, Storyline, Plot & What to Expect
At today’s AnimeJapan display, Studio Bind revealed the second season launch date of their Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation anime, as well as a new visual, trailer, and updated crew roster. Studio Bind has released a new trailer for the sequel, complete with the returning cast, new personnel, and a release date of July 2023, after more than three months since the last update on the project. The studio is making a comeback to animation with Hiroki Hirano taking over for Manabu Okamoto in the director’s chair. Toshiya Onu will take over for Okamoto as the production company’s script supervisor for Season 2.
On the other side, character designer Sanae Shimada has recently joined the team. Akinori Mishima returns in his editor role, Jin Aketagawa in his sound director role, and Masakazu Miyake in his solo art director role. Kohora Konomi will play Roxy, while Uchiyama Yumi will return as Rudeus, in the Japanese production. Both Ai Kakuma and Ai Kayano will lend their voices to the show’s other two lead characters, Eris Boreas and Sylphitte. Members of the cast include Daisuke Namikawa (Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba), Hisako Kanemoto (Classroom of the Elite), Houchu Ohtsuka (Naruto Shippuden), and Kengo Kawanishi (Blue Period).
The first course of the Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation anime premiered in January 2021, and the second will be available to watch online in October of that year. International viewers may now watch the season on Crunchyroll and Hulu. The anime is based on the light novel series Rifujin na Mogonote, which depicts Rudeut Greyrat starting again in life. “Rudeus Greyrat is resolved to learn from his errors and do better in the future. Making the most of his second chance at life, he plans to travel the world and see everything it has to offer.” The plot is explained by Seven Seas Entertainment. Even though the first teaser for the sequel was published in the summer of 2022, fans were worried that the anime’s second season would not premiere any time soon. It has been revealed that both the Magic School and Quagmire storylines would be adapted in the upcoming season.
