Plot
The plot involves a time-travelling thriller. Life-altering circumstances more than two decades ago caused Kat to leave her small, Canadian agricultural community, and she hasn’t spoken to Del since. Kat and Alice decide to return to the family farm as Kat reaches a turning point in her life, but the return isn’t what Kat had hoped for. Mother and daughter Alice and Kat are desperate to learn the truth about the earlier tragedies and alter the course of events when they accidentally discover time travel. Katherine, Delilah, and Alice go back and forth through time with the assistance of Kat’s best friend from childhood, Elliot, who is present in both eras.

Synopsis
The series follows three generations of women in the Landry family as they try to reconnect and learn from their ancestors. When Alice accidentally falls into the pond on the family property, she finds herself in the 1990s and quickly gets close to Kat, the adolescent version of her mother. She learns that her mother and her family were happy once, but events tore them apart and prompted Kat to move away and be married, leading to her own birth. Then she starts thinking about how she might have saved her mum, Katherine, and grandma, Delilah, from being devastated for two decades. Katherine’s lone close confidant is Elliot, her former best friend and current science teacher at her high school. Because Elliot’s feelings for Kat haven’t cooled, he doubts that he can alter the course of events.

Review
The high quality of the film’s production helps the mystery family drama’s case. The gentle sci-fi drama is wrapped up in a warm embrace of drone images of the Canadian shore, silky sunset sky, and picturesque farmland. The Road Home has just the right amount of mystery to keep the suspense high without being overly confronting to sensitive viewers. The narrative occasionally appears to go in circles as old family disputes are brought up again. Yet, it provides watchable entertainment for the whole family, including the younger teenagers and their parents.
