Episode 1050 of One Piece, airing on February 5, 2023, focuses on Momonosuke’s character arc from a fearful and withdrawn youngster victimised by Kaido to an ambitious young man who hopes to become the rightful successor to Wano. As a consequence, readers are hoping Luffy will challenge Momonosuke to improve his skills. Because he utilised Shinobu’s powers to age himself, the latter had already lost a great deal, most notably his childhood self. This is how he got Luffy to Onigashima in the previous episode for the duel between the Straw Hat and Kaido. In episode 1050 of One Piece, Momonosuke learns to face his worries.
Momonosuke aspires to rule the country of Wano as its Shogun
First, in Episode 1050 of One Piece, titled Two Dragons Face Off! Momonosuke’s Determination!, Luffy thanks Yamato for distracting Kaido and assures him that he will take care of the rest. Seeing that Luffy is still alive, Kaido shows up in dragon form as Momonosuke and Yamato are resting from their ordeals. Kaido doesn’t know Momonosuke’s identity or if he helped save Straw Hat because he didn’t recognise him in dragon form. Uncertain after his first meeting with Kaido, Momonosuke eventually comes clean about who he is and announces his goal to become Shogun of the Land of Wano.
The Minks have lost their edge
Luffy’s return to the fight has rejuvenated the Straw Hats as a whole, but some members of the pirate crew’s alliance are at a disadvantage. In One Piece episode 1050, the Mink tribe is shown through a montage of action scenes how the face-off between the two dragons impacts them. Since it is night and the moon is visible, they had been battling while in their Sulong form. But when the dragons’ thunderclouds obscure the moon, the Minks revert to their primitive state. As an added disadvantage, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi are unable to exert themselves after expending so much energy in their transition, making them vulnerable to Jack and Perospero. No help may be expected from Carrot, Wanda, Shishilian, or Bariete.
Kaido gets bit by Momonosuke
In episode 1050 of One Piece, Luffy and Momonosuke continue their battle against Kaido. With no ability to counteract his opponent’s fireballs, Momonosuke can only duck and cover as they fly out of his mouth. While telling Momonosuke to bite Kaido, Luffy aims for Gear 3. Momonosuke swallows his fear and takes a chomp, thinking of his parents’ sacrifice to keep him safe. After Momonosuke bites an Emperor of the Sea, Luffy reassures him that he has nothing to worry about.
Review of One Piece 1049 in brief
To start off One Piece episode 1049, Luffy tried to get Momonosuke to fly despite his obvious fear. The latter was eventually forced to fly, but he was unable to land in the area where Kaido and Yamato were engaged in combat. Instead, he went off track and wrecked the Skull Dome in the process. The episode then shifted its attention to a battle between Yamato and Kaido, in which the two fighters exchanged blows but ultimately failed to defeat one another. In response to Kaito’s claim that Yamato has no friends and/or they are all dead, Yamato insisted that he will not die before Luffy returns. The Samurai community in Wano also would not welcome him. Yamato was distracted by Kaido’s mental tricks, and as a result, she absorbed a lot of damage. On the other hand, he eventually got back up and fought back. At the same time, Gear 4 Luffy joined the fray, and he and Zoro delivered a devastating blow that sent Kaido flying.
