Spoilers & leaks for Dragon Ball Super Chapter 89
At first glance, Beta’s position here might lead one to wonder whether he plans to go Ultra Instinct or something similar. However, while all of this is happening and Trunks is shown to be frustrated, Beta has been using his eyes as cameras the whole time. What I’m getting from this is that Kid Beta is doing everything in his power to get under Trunks’ skin, and the other Alpha Androids are watching and trying to figure out if this is the same Kid who busted up in their factory & took them all out once they went back inside Blue Hal Highschool. When he throws the ball, it ricochets off the wall and hits Trunk when he is stocking under to tie his shoe. Mai is kind of the 1st person to pick up on something very unusual about this kid, and later we see them at lunch where Beta is once again trying to make Trubk’s life miserable here.
All of this serves the purpose of noting that without them having to realise yet Beta is working for Dr Hedo this whole time. In class, Mai notices a student who appears to have a sewn-up neck. This is highly uncommon behaviour for a student; after all, what type of student would have something so obviously visible sewed into their body? Not only does Trunks recall that he fought a big Android named Alpha in the factory, but he also remembers that Alpha had comparable portions of what Trunks saw sewed onto his body.
So Trunks knew what the deal was, and then Beta ends up putting on a suit acting to be like the supervillain. Then he ends up going after Goten, which then prompts Trunks to step into action because he sees that Goten is a quote in trouble even though he is not. So without giving away his identity, he looks over onto his watch & goes as far as distance Mai by letting her know that he gotta go.
Summary of Dragon Ball Super Chapter 89 Published Online
The story opens with Trunks investigating the contents of the disc he recovered from Mount Butterfly. He goes inside Bulma’s lab and uses her computer to access the disc after several fruitless efforts to crack the disc’s security code. Then, he cracks the code to the blueprints of a creature named Cell in its Larva Stage. However, as he attempts to delve more into the data, a virus infects the computer, causing it to crash, and he hurriedly ejects the disc. Soon after, Bulma and Bra show up at the lab, where they find Trunks fixing her busted computer. According to her, he has taken like his father Vegeta and has a knack for shattering her possessions. Meanwhile, Bra tries to fix the computer after the virus assault and succeeds, prompting Bulma to comment that Bra is more talented than Trunks is for her age. Next, Bulma tells Trunks that Mai has also decided to enrol at Blue Hal High School, and that she would want him to accompany her there so that she won’t be late.
For Trunks, this was enormously exciting news, and he was ecstatic. After that, he and Mai head to Blue Hal High School, where Trunks’s friends swarm to see the stunning new student. As a result of these rumours, Bulma and Mai have chosen to enrol in Blue Hal Highschool in an effort to silence them once and for all. When Mai finally arrives at her new high school, she presents herself to her new classmates as a transfer student. In the end, Trunks decided to fill Mai in on all the latest school news because his professors had requested him to do so. Before Mai can answer Skale’s question about whether or not she has a partner, Trunks steps in. However, Mai wasn’t the only substitute student for today’s lesson. A new student at Blue Hal High School is a lad named Beta, and Rulah offers to help him out with his schoolwork because he is the only one who has transferred in except herself. Some fans have called it dull and slow-paced, while others are truly thrilled to see the focus shift away from Goku and Vegeta and onto the other characters in the show.

What You Need To Know About Chapter 89 Of Dragon Ball Super
Viz Media and Manga Plus host digital editions of the Dragon Ball manga, including the upcoming Chapter 89 of Dragon Ball Super and all preceding chapters.
Soon-to-be-published Chapter 89 looms in the distance. As promised by Toyotarou in a recent interview, Dragon Ball Super Chapter 89 would focus mostly on Trunks, and now we have the spoilers and leaks to prepare us for what to expect in this manga chapter. With Dr Hedo now on the trail of the boys in an effort to learn more about them, the next big issue is whether or not anything new will happen in Beerus’s factory as Goku and Vegeta continue their search for Black Frieza. In the following episode, we’ll see Trunks go above and beyond to show off his basketball talents. However, it appears that Trunks’ adversary will be the incoming new beta at his school; as Trunks is working especially hard to get Mai’s attention, Beta swoops in and steals the ball from him.
The addition of basketball to the roster of sports played by our heroes is exciting, but it appears that Beta will cross Trunks and lay up one on him, so the game will feel less like Dragon Ball because you now have two children, one of whom is an Android. For example, Trunks playing basketball is a good example of a beta Andoird vs a Saiyan. It’s novel, and I find it interesting, but if it doesn’t ultimately contribute to something, I don’t see the point. Even as they are playing basketball, it is not as though Beta isn’t keeping a check on Trunks; in fact, the game quickly takes on the feel of Space Jam due to Trunks’ frequent head turns.
