A Look at Boruto’s Prehistory in Naruto Next Generations Episode 277
There’s a bounty hunter named Anaguma who tells Boruto in Episode 276 of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations called “Welcome to the Maze” that everyone aboard the Thunder Train wakes up in the same lab. The Hidden Mist is where Anaguma has travelled, and he is going to carry his bounty, Rokuro. A fellow shinobi from Hidden Leaf named Kiseru Gankubi is one of the passengers Boruto encounters. An elderly guy named Ouga interrupts the group. Before he releases them, he says he wants to study them all to figure out how they were able to survive the train’s derailment.
Ouga’s puppet hand instantly kills a mist shinobi who volunteers to help. Ouga admits that he wants to use human subjects in his experiments, which is why he has them confined in his underground labyrinth. Those who are unable to complete the five exams will also be trapped forever. Anaguma dies in the first test by falling through the crumbling floor while Rokuro escapes unharmed. But they can’t go away just yet; the surviving have to take another exam.
