Just as the film’s wide release approaches, the third season of the hit isekai anime series That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime was announced. The news that there will be a third season was dropped on audiences at a sneak peek of the film’s release. The show’s official Twitter account also released information to the public, including a critical graphic.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3
For the uninitiated, 8Bit’s That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (also known as Slime Isekai or TenSura) is an anime adaptation of Fuse’s light novel series of the same name. It was originally serialised on the World Wide Web, but Micro Magazine began publishing it as a light novel series in 2014. Its popularity has resulted in a manga adaptation and countless spin-off manga, and the narrative is far from over.
The first season of the anime adaption ran from October 2018 to March 2019, spanning two complete stories. The success of the first season led to the production of a second, two-part season that aired in the winter and summer of 2021. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Scarlet Bond, the film, was revealed before the third season was even confirmed. The 25th of November, 2022 is the scheduled release date for theatres in Japan.
Updated Season 3 Information
Despite the fact that the future film will also take place after Season 2, the upcoming season will serve as a sequel to the events of that season. The movie’s canon status and whether or not Season 3 will follow the events it set in motion remain unknown at this time. The announcement article did not provide many plot specifics, but it did provide the official key visual, which shows Hinata Sakaguchi in a head-to-head conflict with Rimuru (who is off-screen).
Based on this, Sakaguchi should have a significant part in the upcoming season. A picture for the anime has been released, but information on the cast or premiere date for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 is still lacking.
