Even if there is still a week till Halloween, we must now turn our attention to other celebrations. Fans won’t have to go to the moon or Mars to celebrate the holidays with the Guardians of the Galaxy cast, thanks to filmmaker James Gunn bringing them to Earth. Marvel fans, mark your calendars on November 25 for the Disney+ debut of The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. The Guardians of the Galaxy set out in November to provide their courageous commander Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) some holiday happiness after he tragically lost his outlaw companion in global crime-fighting, Gamora (Zo Saldaa). Aware that the holiday season is drawing near, Kraglin (Sean Gunn) and his companions examine Star-recent Lord’s gloomy disposition and, at Mantis’s (Pom Klementieff) urging, set out to buy the right present to cheer him up.
Naturally, Earth must be hiding someplace in the cosmos somewhere, and the finest human presence for human Star-Lord must be waiting to be wrapped up there. The release date for this brand-new MCU adventure is slated for November 25—right after the holiday feasting and before the holiday mayhem of December. The release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on November 11 also places this GotG chapter in close proximity to its premiere.
According to reports, Gunn’s third and final Guardians of the Galaxy film will hit cinemas in May 2023, and the Holiday Special will serve as a bridge between Vol. 2 and Vol. 3. The future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was revealed by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige during this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Phase 5 will begin with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, while Phase 4 will conclude with The Holiday Special. This is the first phase of what Feige calls the Multiverse Saga (be afraid). The emotional fallout from Thanos’ (Josh Brolin) Snap killing half the world’s population is something that Gunn’s lighthearted ragtag squad is able to help with.
As the Multiverse Saga progresses, readers will witness their beloved heroes face up against reality-warping, universe-hopping opponents whose abilities even the Mad Titan could not have imagined. Gunn tells Marvel fans to strap in and tag along with Mantis and Drax (Dave Bautista) as they embark on a perilous mission to get Kevin Bacon in time to place him under Star-Christmas Lord’s tree. Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Vin Diesel as Groot, and Karen Gillan as Nebula will round out the stellar cast. The writer and director have teased that “one of the greatest MCU characters of all time” would make a return in The Holiday Special, which suggests that we may all be in for a treat in November.
On November 25th, Guardians of the Galaxy: The Holiday Special will make its premiere on Disney+.
