In the forthcoming thriller On The Line, Mel Gibson portrays a radio broadcaster who must deal with a danger to his family while broadcasting live on the air. This will be the second feature film from French director Romuald Boulanger (after 2020’s Connectés), and it will have its world debut on November 4 in cinemas and online. The teaser provides viewers with a sense of the suspense built up in Gibson’s portrayal of Elvis, who is caught in a deadly game of cat and mouse that will have them on the edge of their seats.
It was written and directed by Boulanger, and it stars William Moseley, Alia Seror-O’Neill, Paul Spera, Nadia Farés, Enrique Arce, Kevin Dillon, and John Robinson. Elvis kicks off the teaser by telling his audience to get comfortable. Things build up as he settles into his pattern of fielding calls and giving advice until a caller identifying himself as “Gary” believes he is about to do something really stupid. Elvis keeps his calm as he asks the unknown caller where he is, but things heat up when Gary says he is phoning from a “not very pleasant” stranger’s house and has plans to eliminate the stranger’s family.
When the protagonist and his coworkers discover that Elvis’ house and family are in danger, along with the rest of the station, the situation becomes even scarier. The trailer makes it seem like much of the suspense occurs “on the line” in Elvis’s radio studio, but once the characters discover who the caller really is, things heat up quickly. On the Line is being released by Saban Films. The thriller is a collaboration between writers Boulanger, Marc Frydman, and Robert Ogden Barnum.
The show’s executive producers are as follows: William Baldwin; Marie-Ange Casalta; Nadine de Barros; David Gendron; Matthew Helderman; Ali Jazayeri; Jina Panebianco; Joseph Panebianco; Samantha Peel; and R. Wes Sierk. Co-executive producer Eric Binns, co-producer James Cooney, and associate producers Michael Barba, Gianna Bellomo, and Nicolas Bouvet are also working on On the Line. On the Line is scheduled for a November 4 theatrical, digital, and On Demand release.
