Bust out the champagne and lobster, HBO Max has revealed that Harley Quinn will be receiving a very lovely and romantic Valentine’s Day special. Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special will premiere on the service on a date in February 2023 that has not yet been announced. As per HBO Max, love is in the air in the bonus instalment as Harley (Kaley Cuoco) and Poison Ivy (Lake Bell), dubbed Harlivy, ring in the Hallmark holiday as their first time as a pair. Audiences will also get to watch how the rest of Harley’s ragged crew spends their time on the official day of love.
In addition to Bell and Cuoco, the romantic special will feature the voices of many other familiar faces and newcomers, including Alan Tudyk, Matt Oberg, James Wolk, Natalie Morales, Chris Diamantopoulos, James Adomian, Jim Rash, Vanessa Marshall, Janet Varney, Rachel Dratch, Leila Birch, Tyler James Williams, Josh Helman, Casey Wilson, Michael Ironside, and many more. Despite all the commotion around the Warner Bros. Discovery merger, which saw a bevvy of titles removed from the schedule, a fourth season of the adult cartoon series has just been confirmed.
As shown in the most recent episode, Harley and Ivy’s romance continued to flourish despite some challenges. The two joined forces with King Shark (Ron Funches), Clayface (Tudyk), and Frank the Plant (J.B. Smoove) to take Gotham by storm using only the forces of nature. Co-starring with Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, Dean Lorey, Jennifer Coyle, and Sam Register, Cuoco will also serve as an executive producer on the programme. In collaboration with Warner Bros. Animation, the film will be produced by Delicious Nonsequitur Productions and Yes, Norman Productions. With today’s news, it’s evident that not only is Harley Quinn surviving, but it’s thriving.
We are overjoyed that the fans’ love for Harley Quinn (and the Warner Bros. Discovery powers that be) have allowed it to survive after a number of projects, including the finished Batgirl film and animated pieces like Young Justice and Batman: Caped Crusaders were axed from the studio’s lineup of content. Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special looks like a great example of happy stories about LGBTQ love, and we can’t wait to watch the romance, passion, and, of course, antics that unfold. The special is planned to premiere sometime in February 2023.
