Over the past month, promotional materials for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever have been released like water from a dam. In addition to the video, ScreenX also unveiled a new poster featuring the whole ensemble, with an emphasis on Letitia Wright as Shuri. It also encourages people to go to a Regal theatre to watch the film using ScreenX, a large, immersive screen. The poster emphasises how central Shuri is to the story. She dominates the other actors, taking on the role of Wakanda’s protector following the death of King T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) and standing tall with her supporters at her side. They are, however, not completely isolated.
Namor the Submariner (Tenoch Huerta) threatens the surface world from below, despite the fact that the Wakandans dwarf his silhouette. He lurks in the shadows of Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett) on the poster, where he is kept completely under wraps. It’s a nod to his entrance in the most recent trailer and a way to up the suspense on the poster. The poster does more than just showcase the film’s key actors; it also encourages visitors to “See more in ScreenX.” Wakanda Forever is building up to be the kind of movie that demands the biggest screen available, be it a premium screen at Regal or an IMAX theatre.
The most recent teaser included a wide variety of cinematic views, including Riri Williams/Ironheart (Dominique Thorne) in action and Namor’s waves breaking over the surface world. With the return to Wakanda comes a desperate fight to keep the peace inside the country, and ScreenX’s panoramic display will transport viewers to the centre of the action. Wright, Bassett, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, and Martin Freeman all reprise their roles from the first film in this sequel, titled simply “Wakanda Forever.” Michaela Coel, Huerta, and Thorne were all new additions; their exact roles are unclear at this time. Even the original Black Panther director, Ryan Coogler, is coming back for another go at recapturing the film’s glory.
With a running duration of 2 hours and 41 minutes, the return to Wakanda has a lot to cover, from the introduction of Ironheart and Namor through the death of T’Challa (and Boseman) and the passing of the torch to a new Black Panther. With Riri’s inclusion, the movie will serve as a bridge to the next project Coogler will direct for Marvel, the Ironheart series. On November 11, cinemas will see Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
