Apple TV+ has released the second season of “Slow Horses”

The premiere date for Season 2 of the drama series Slow Horses, featuring Gary Oldman as the shadowy commander of disgraced spies, has been announced by Apple TV+. The series returned with six additional episodes in only a few months after the release of the well-received first season in April of last year. In Slow Horses, we tag along with the underachieving spies of MI5’s Slough House espionage division. Jackson Lamb (Oldman), the grouchy and dejected head of Slough House, is well aware that the operatives sent there are being punished and are not expected to perform any actual spy work while they are there.

On the other hand, the Slough House’s special circumstances also allow them to stay covert despite uncovering criminal plots involving influential individuals and even MI5 agents. In the first episode of Slow Horses, the reluctant commander of the Slough House uses his ragtag squad of outcasts to probe a complex hostage situation. The upcoming episodes of Season 2 will address sleeper agents returning to duty, putting the MI5 in jeopardy and compelling the Slough House to take action once more, as teased in the season 2 teaser.

Season 2 of Slow Horses, based on the best-selling novels by Mick Herron, will adapt the narrative of Dead Lions. In addition to Oscar nominees Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Freddie Fox, Chris Reilly, Samuel West, Sophie Okonedo, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Kadiff Kirwan, and Jonathan Pryce, Slow Horses also features Christopher Reilly, Freddie Fox, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Kadiff Kirwan, and Jonathan Pryce. Apple TV+ ordered two seasons of Slow Horses before the series ever premiered because the network knew the show would be a hit because of its innovative premise and stellar ensemble.

The rapid turnaround for Season 2 was made possible by the show’s early renewal. Even before Season 1 was aired, director James Hawes had already filmed the entirety of Season 2. Due to Apple TV+’s positive reception of the first season, the streaming service has already renewed the show through Season 4. This means that production on Season 3 should move quickly. New seasons of Slow Horses will similarly consist of six episodes. On Friday, December 2, Apple TV+ subscribers may watch the first two episodes of Season 2 of Slow Horses. After that, on December 30 (the season finale), fresh episodes will air every Friday.
