“Mayfair Witches” Starring Alexandra Daddario, Release Date, Cast, Synopsis & More

During today’s AMC Networks Summit event, the first look at new photographs from the forthcoming series Mayfair Witches were presented. Star of the show Alexandra Daddario and co-stars Harry Hamlin and Tongayi Chirisa is featured in the new photos. Season one of Mayfair Witches will debut on AMC and AMC+ in early 2023. Anne Rice fans of all hues have reason to expect a plethora of creepy, gothic content with the publication of these new photographs after the intriguing news that Interview With The Vampire has been renewed for a second season.

Mayfair Witches, like Interview with the Vampire, is based on the writings of a deceased writer of gothic horror. The trilogy that serves as the inspiration for Mayfair Witches was written by Anne Rice and released in the early ’90s. Rowan, played by Daddario, is an intuitive and incredibly skilled neurosurgeon who, in the new Mayfair Witches series, learns that she is the heir of a long line of witches. Further coming to terms with her startling new abilities, Rowan must also confront a malevolent spirit that has plagued her family for generations.

The new photos emphasise the series’ strong family dynamic. A number of the photos include Rowan alongside Hamlin’s character, Cortland Mayfair, the father of the Mayfair family. Rowan appears astonished and Cortland appears extremely serious as they sit together on a couch in the photos. Two more photos give us a glimpse into the show’s creepier elements: a dead bird that lands on Rowan’s car, and Rowan in a very gothic library, staring at a book that appears to spin its own pages. Chirisa, who plays Ciprien Grieve, may be seen in the day’s last photograph appearing a little scared as he peers over a fence lined with bushes.

Nevertheless, this is not the first time we’ve seen photos of the impending show. The release of photographs from the series was previously rumoured, and they showcase the show’s colourful take on a witchy story. Mark Johnson, Esta Spalding, Michelle Ashford, Michael Uppendahl, and Jeff Freilich are the executive producers of the planned series. This show is an AMC Studios production. Joining Daddario, Hamlin, and Chirisa in the cast is Jack Huston, who will play the shapeshifting ghost Lasher, who has tormented the Mayfairs for ages. Currently, there is no official confirmed premiere date for the show. Nonetheless, early 2023 is when we anticipate seeing it in stores.
