Some viewers have made the connection to the Marineford storyline, where Shanks single-handedly prevented a battle between Whitebeard’s pirates and the Navy.
With the exception of this one point, all of the rumours and leaks that had been floating about turned out to be accurate. Blackbeard raided Amazon Lily for Hancock’s devil fruit ability, Mero Mero no Mi. This chapter also highlighted Hancock and Blackbeard’s respective strengths. The latest spoilers confirm that towards the conclusion of the book, Blackbeard’s pirates had actually taken Koby. Fans were intrigued by this development since it suggested Koby must be rather powerful to attract the attention of Blackbeard. Additionally, Shakky joins Rayleigh in Amazon Lily, which was not previously known. In addition to meeting a new Pacifista model, as was previously revealed, Blackbeard will also encounter a new villain. An earlier version of Luffy and Yamato may be seen in a flashback that takes up a good chunk of the chapter. Spoilers state that “The incident of Captain Koby” is discussed in One Piece Chapter 1059. The chapter opens with a scene of the Red Hair Pirates’ ship cruising near Sphinx Island, Whitebeard’s home. When Shanks asks Macro as he leaves the ship whether he plans to join the pirates, Macro says he’s had enough of playing babysitter and is leaving. The flashback begins after Marco has flown to Sphinx Island. Wanokuni is attacked by Ryokugyuu in a flashback. After the attack, Yamato explains that she has a responsibility to stay with the people of Wanokuni and won’t be joining the Straw Hats. Furthermore, she is concerned about the safety of people after the attack on Wanokuni and refuses to leave.
In the meantime, the following scene takes us to the island of ladies, the Amazon Lily, where we notice that a large portion of the island has been devastated. Gloriosa believes that it is the first time men have been able to infiltrate the island thus deep. It is because of her, Hancock tells Amazon Lily, that the island has been invaded, and as long as she is around, men will continue to invade. Another recollection begins with a Marine assault on the island. Even as Kuja launches a counterattack, the marines are able to breach the city’s fortifications. The Marines not only send Seraphim to the front lines throughout the invasion, but they also film the assault on the city. Simultaneously, a little girl with wings and a flame on her back arrives.
We can see that neither Marguerite nor Sweet Pea are interested in fighting a young girl. the girl’s pupils are shaped like stars as she suddenly begins firing a laser from her palm. Conversely, Blackbeard’s pirate ships materialise seemingly out of thin air. A tremor in the ocean moves the Marine vessels out of Blackbeard’s route and into the Amazon Lily, allowing Teach to land on the island with Catarina Devon and Vasco Shot. Catarina, in the following shot, wants Hancock’s skull as a prize. If Catarina can obtain Hancock’s power, then Teach says she is free to do anything she pleases. Vasco, meantime, advises they bring Hancock along with them in a conscious state. Teach’s subordinates, meantime, come to him for assistance in dealing with the white-haired, brown-skinned infant with black wings.
As the youngster approaches Teach, he or she brandishes a large sword, not unlike Mihawk’s. Moreover, he resembles a young Mihawk in appearance. As their fight progresses, the kid shows up to be a formidable foe. But Teach uses his talents to absorb everything around him, and his Haki-coated arm blocks the kid’s blade. While Catarina and Vasco fight it out, Hancock transforms everyone around her to stone. As Hancock readies her next assault, Teach swoops in and catches her by the neck, lifting her off the ground. In the meantime, the narrator announces their new bounties: 1.65 billion berries for the Pirate Empress, Boa Hancock. After the narrator finishes announcing Blackbeard’s 3.99 Billion Berries prize, we notice that Catarina and Vesco are also turned to stone, leaving Koby in a bind because he doesn’t know what to do. While Teach is debating whether or not to execute Hancock, a character with formidable Haki abilities enters the scene. It’s Rayleigh, the Dark King, who plays a major role.
The employees of Koby and Teach get into a panic when he enters the room. Rayleigh, unperturbed, calls for Hancock to restore order, then orders everyone off the island and warns them not to make any rash decisions. The following scene brings us back to the current day on Amazon Lily, where we learn that Shakky followed Rayleigh to the island. The Marines, according to Rayleigh, are sure that the new weapon they brought with them would suffice in place of the Shichibukai. Speaking to Marigold about the weapon, Sandersonia says that the kid looks much as Hancock did when she was a kid, but the kid’s pupils are shaped like stars. The happenings at Amazon Lily are reported by a Marine ship, and this concludes Chapter 1059 of One Piece.
