Synopsis of Chapter 196 from Jujutsu Kaisen
In Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 196, Maki faced off against Miyo Rokujushi in a wrestling battle. In the previous chapter, Miyo was shown casting a Simple Domain, and in this one, he invites Maki to join him in sumo. The chapter explained how his one-of-a-kind barrier worked, and how it rendered useless any jujutsu manoeuvres in favour of sumo. The Simple Domain was sealed when Maki accepted his offer, thereby fulfilling the Binding Vow.
Miyo triumphed over Maki despite Maki’s superior strength and became a kind of mentor to her. After Maki acknowledged she was puzzled by Daidou’s comments, Miyo offered to shed light on their meaning through the sport of sumo, telling her to feel the liberation that comes from being able to perceive her opponent’s body as if it were her own. After beating Miyo and escaping his barrier technique at the end of chapter 196, Maki declared cheerfully that she was in peak fighting form.
