A sensual and bloody scene is imminent, so stock up on red wine and Scotchgard. New footage from AMC’s forthcoming vampire drama Interview With The Vampire premiered today with a brand-new teaser trailer. We finally get an up-close look at our vampire host and his extraordinary past in the new teaser (and death). On October 2 at 10:00 p.m. ET/9:00 p.m. CT, “Interview with the Vampire” will have its premiere, just in time for the approaching Halloween season. The new video, which clocks in at little over two minutes, provides an in-depth look at the new Louis de Pointe du Lac, the vampire in Interview With The Vampire, and his backstory.
Anyone familiar with the source material will quickly spot the changes made to Louis’s account. The earlier chronology placed Louis in late 1700s Louisiana as a widower plantation owner; the new trailer places him in 1910s New Orleans. Louis, in his human guise, is shown in the new teaser roaming the seedy side of one of the most legendary and beautiful cities in the world, earning a livelihood off the nightlife and vice. The mysterious and irresistible Lestat lures him in and engulfs him in the dark and violent realm of vampires. AMC’s newest teaser for its upcoming adaptation of Anne Rice’s famous 1976 novel features plenty of atmospheric gothic romance.
Even if the show has changed a few things about its main character, it still seems to adhere to the original’s mood of gloom and melancholy. Beyond that, though, the love tension between Louis and Lestat appears to be addressed more directly in the new series than it was in the 1994 film, which is sure to please many readers. Cast members such as Bailey Bass as Claudia and Same Reid as the legendary Lestat de Lioncourt are introduced in the new teaser. Eric Bogosian, who plays journalist Daniel Molloy, is also seen in the clip.
On October 2, 2022, after The Walking Dead, AMC will air the premiere of Interview With The Vampire at 10:00 PM ET/9:00 PM CT. On the same night, the first two episodes will be made accessible on AMC+.
