Fox is pouring a tonne of resources on its forthcoming anthology series Accused. Emmy winner Margo Martindale (Americans, Justified) leads a flood of fresh castings, along with Emmy nominees Molly Parker (Deadwood) and Rachel Bilson, proving that the network has spared no money in bringing in star power for each episode (The O.C.). Jack Davenport (The Morning Show), J. Harrison Ghee (Kinky Boots), Reid Miller (Joe Bell), August Maturo (Girl Meets World), and Ian Anthony Dale (The Flash) have all signed on to star in the series (Hawaii Five-0). Based on the award-winning BBC crime anthology of the same name, Accused tells the stories of defendants from their point of view as they explain their conviction and sentencing. It isn’t until the accused’s involvement in the crime is revealed that the viewer learns the true reason they’re standing accused.
Each narrative attempts to show how drastically life may alter for a regular individual who just happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong moment. The show will consist of 15 episodes, each of which will focus on a unique criminal situation. For the first time since their 2004 Emmy-nominated role in Iron Jawed Angels together, Martindale and Parker will share screen time. Besides the fact that it will deal with conspiracies, we know very little about their upcoming episode. For a narrative about a family in a bind, Bilson will work with Davenport, Miller, and Maturo. This episode, directed by Billy Porter and starring Ghee, centres on a drag queen whose love affair with a rival has tragic results.
Ghee’s final significant movie role was in 2019’s Raising Dion. At long last, Dale will make an appearance in an episode about a brother who takes care of and protects his younger sibling after the latter loses their life to a vehicle accident. Some adjustments were also performed off-camera. In Reservation Dogs, Tazbah Rose Chavez, who also wrote the script, will direct an episode about Native American activists fighting a uranium mining that has polluted their area for decades. As an episode director, Brad Turner will be reuniting with 24 creators Howard Gordon and Alex Gansas, as well as Jonathan Mostow (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines) and Lee Rose (Star Trek: Discovery), but it is still unknown what storylines they will be directing.
