A new trailer for the upcoming Netflix original comedy spectacular Jo Koy: Live at the Los Angeles Forum has been released. It will be Koy and Netflix’s fourth time working together, and the special will debut later this month. While the teaser remains tight-lipped about the new jokes Koy wrote for the comedy special, it’s clear that in Jo Koy: Live At The Los Angeles Forum, the comic will once again delve into his personal life and the connections with his family. Koy jokes about the generational divide in technology use, which is highlighted by the rapid pace at which the media has evolved.
While today’s youth may download a 4K movie in under a minute, older generations might recall the agony of vying for one of the few copies available at the video store. The preview only shows a small portion of the special, but based on what we’ve seen so far, we know it will be another entertaining comedy performance from Koy. After the 2020s In His Elements, Jo Koy: Live At The Los Angeles Forum is the first time the comedian has worked with Netflix. The comedian has guest-starred in two Netflix specials, Comin’ In Hot and Live from Seattle. To this day, Koy considers Live from Seattle one of his favourite shows despite the fact that it was the most challenging comedy special he’d ever filmed.
Because even Netflix turned him down, Koy paid for the programme out of his own pocket. However, the streaming service purchased the exclusive rights after the show’s popularity, marking the beginning of a fruitful and long-lasting collaboration. When discussing his early career with Collider, Koy said: That [Live from Seattle] was my soul, my life, because I wore so many hats. No one was willing to take the huge risk for the negligible payoff. And despite the fact that everybody said no. I mean absolutely everyone. No one wanted my special, and I didn’t take it personally when they all said no. So my boss and I used our own money to make the film.
Shannon Hartman helms the concert film Jo Koy: Live At The Los Angeles Forum. Koy, Hartman, Joe Meloche, and Michelle Caputo are the executive producers for the comedy special. On September 13, Netflix will debut Jo Koy: Live From The Los Angeles Forum.
Synopsis
