Old Man, a film from RJLE Films, has an exclusive trailer that was released today. The thriller, starring Stephen Lang (Avatar: The Way of Water) and Marc Senter (Alleluia! The Devil’s Carnival), follows a hiker (Lang) who becomes disoriented in the woods and, while looking for aid, stumbles into a cottage occupied by an old man (Senter). The release date has been set for October 14th, as we originally predicted. The trailer for Old Man gives a good idea of what to expect from the film; it’s a single-setting thriller that relies primarily on the acting chops of its lead actors to create an atmosphere of fear and unease.
It’s safe to assume that the star of Don’t Breathe has got it covered since we saw in James Cameron’s Avatar that Stephen Lang is more than capable of playing a merciless adversary.
The trailer for The Old Man also suggests that there will be shocks because we don’t know anything about any of the characters. It’s unclear who the genuine bad guy is, but both of them are acting in ways that raise red flags like they’re always trying to one-up one other.
Liana Wright-Mark (Ocean’s 8) and Patch Darragh round out the cast (Succession). On the other hand, we’re sure to be startled by whatever turns the plot takes, so it’s good that the Old Man trailer doesn’t give much away and allows lots of room for interpretation. As the story unfolds, we may let our thoughts run wild. Unfortunately, we won’t have any definitive answers until a little over a month. Lucky McKee, the man in charge of Old Man, has directed and written specialised horror films before, including 2002’s May and 2013’s All Cheerleaders Die. Joel Veach, who has never written a screenplay before, penned the script for this first movie. On October 14, Old Man will have its world premiere in cinemas, VOD, and digital platforms.
A disoriented hiker finds an eccentric old man’s cabin deep in the woods. A seemingly harmless chat quickly becomes risky as it becomes apparent that one or both of them may be keeping a terrible secret from one another. You won’t be able to take your eyes off of this riveting thriller starring Stephen Lang (‘Avatar,’ ‘Don’t Breathe,’) and Marc Senter (‘Starry Eyes,’) who take a horrifying and heartbreaking dive into lunacy.
