Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile is the newest family comedy, and it will be released in October. Based on the children’s book of the same name, this live-action musical comedy follows a crocodile in New York City who strikes up an unlikely friendship with a little kid. A new trailer for the film has just been published, promising families a great day at the movies.
Adapted from Bernard Waber’s novel, Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile is a children’s picture book. It follows Constance Wu, Scoot McNairy, and Winslow Fegley’s Primm family as they settle into life in New York City. Josh (Fegley), the family’s young kid, has trouble fitting in and making friends.
That is until he meets Lyle, a crocodile who has taken up residence in his attic and is portrayed by Grammy-nominated artist Shawn Mendes. As they engage in increasingly ridiculous antics to evade Mr Grumps’ wrath, the two quickly become good friends (Brett Gelman). The new teaser gives a taste of the hilarity that awaits in the film about a crocodile in the city, from evading animal control to enjoying a bubble bath to poking his head out the window of a moving cab and waving to passers-by.
The teaser also provides a sneak peek at the film’s upbeat musical moments. On a rooftop, Lyle performs a song that is destined to become an audience favourite. Lyle’s former owner, played by Javier Bardem, is also shown dancing with Lyle in a few brief shots, as is Wu’s Mrs Primm dancing in the kitchen. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who also wrote the music for La La Land, The Greatest Showman, and Dear Evan Hansen, composed the original songs for the film. Ari Afsar, Emily Gardner, Xu Hall, Mark Sonnenblick, and Joriah Kwamé are among the other composers who contributed to the film. Will Davies, who wrote How to Train Your Dragon, also wrote this picture, and Will Speck and Josh Gordon directed it.
In addition to Hutch Parker, Speck and Gordon will take on the role of producers. Kevin K. Vafi, Dan Wilson, Robert J. Dohrmann, Pasek, Paul, and Tarak serve as executive producers. The two of you, Ben Ammar and Andy Mitchell. On October 7, you may see Lyle, Lyle, and Crocodile in cinemas everywhere. Young Josh has a hard time settling into his new life in New York City with his family and friends. Everything changes, however, when he comes upon Lyle in the attic of his new house, a singing crocodile with a penchant for hot baths, caviar, and excellent music. When Lyle’s life is threatened by their evil neighbour Mr. Grumps, the Primms must join forces with Lyle’s charismatic owner, Hector P. Valenti, to prove that family can be found in the unlikeliest of places and that a big singing crocodile with an even bigger personality is not necessarily a bad thing.
