The cast and crew of Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling attended a press conference on Monday night in anticipation of the film’s premiere at the 2022 Venice Film Festival. Florence Pugh, who co-stars with Harry Styles, was noticeably absent from this press event. The director denied that there were problems between Wilde and Pugh during the press conference, praising the star and thanking her for attending the screening even though she is now committed to the production of Dune: Part 2. As a director, I understand how much of a setback it can be to lose an actor for even a single day.
Wilde praised Pugh, calling her “a force” and adding that she “can’t express enough how thrilled I am to have her as our lead,” according to statements published by The New York Times. The internet feeds itself,” she criticised the constant stream of speculation and “endless tabloid chatter” about the couple’s problems online. My reluctance to make a contribution is strong. To my mind, it’s getting the proper amount of nourishment at this point. In 2020, when Pugh and Wilde were filming Don’t Worry Darling, rumours began circulating that the two did not get along. On the day before yesterday, the international premiere of Don’t Worry Darling took place in Venice, and the crowd there gave the film a standing ovation that lasted for four minutes. Attendees said the filmmaker and star did not speak to each other the whole evening. They sat apart on the red carpet and during the screening, and Pugh even turned her back on the director during the film’s standing ovation. Variety has provided the following report. “Don’t Worry Darling is best as a surface-level matinĂ©e thriller with a few follow-ups has,” critic Brian Formo stated in his B-graded review of the film. But in the end, it doesn’t hurt as much as it should.
Katie Silberman penned the script for the film Don’t Worry Darling, which Wilde directed. Chris Pine, Gemma Chan, KiKi Layne, and Nick Kroll all star alongside Pugh and Styles. Wilde and Silberman are not only the film’s director and screenwriter but also of the three producers alongside Miri Yoon and Roy Lee. New Line Cinema and Vertigo Entertainment are the film’s producers. Let It Go This month, on September 23, Darling will make its way to theatres in the United States after having its global debut at the 79th Venice International Film Festival, which is presently taking place in the city of the same name.
