Colman Domingo, for his performance as Ali in the drama series Euphoria, has been awarded the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. This year’s award was presented on September 4 during the Creative Arts Emmys. There were other nominees besides Domingo, such as Tom Pelphrey of Ozark. Also doing well was the third season of HBO’s Succession, which included notable performances from Adrien Brody, James Cromwell, Arian Moayed, and Alexander Skarsgard. Domingo has been a mainstay on Fear the Walking Dead since Season 1, playing the role of Victor Strand, and he has also guest-starred on Euphoria. Domingo is also active in the cinema industry, where he has garnered praise for his work in the Oscar-winning Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and the critically acclaimed Zola.
In 2021, the Hollywood Critics Association honoured him for his contributions to the film Euphoria. Domingo plays Ali Muhammed, a recovering addict who becomes Rue (Zendayasponsor )’s at Narcotics Anonymous in the Netflix series Euphoria, about the kind of high school every parent wishes their child doesn’t wind up at. Given the positive reception his character has received, what Season 3 has in store for him is certainly intriguing.
This past weekend, the Creative Arts Emmys were presented at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles over the course of two nights. Edited portions of the event will air on FXX on September 10 in the run-up to the Primetime Emmys on September 12.
