The filming of “Echo” at Marvel Studios is complete. Alaqua Cox, who plays the title character, posted a celebratory Instagram photo. Filming on the show began in April after the character was introduced in Disney+’s Hawkeye, which followed Marvel Cinematic Universe veteran Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) and rookie Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld).
After losing her father to Ronin’s search for criminals during the blip, Echo (Maya Lopez) rises to the position of Tracksuit Mafia leader and works with Wilson Fisk (Kingpin) in the series. Since her primary motivation is getting revenge for her dad, she follows Clint and Kate to Ronin.
Yet, when Clint confesses that he is the vigilante she seeks, she realises that it was Fisk who killed her father. She shoots Fisk in her final seconds on the show, and the audience witnesses it. In the upcoming season, Lopez will confront her history and explore her Native American heritage. Along the way, she’ll hopefully learn the value of family and community. Starring Vincent D’onofrio’s Kingpin and Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, Echo appears to be building on the MCU’s street-level heroes. Both heroes are recovering from their time spent streaming on Marvel’s Netflix.
D’onofrio debuted in the MCU with the Hawkeye films a few days before Cox did with Spider-Man: Homecoming. Daredevil fans will be looking forward to the next series. The addition of several Native American performers to the roster, as well as its portrayal of handicapped people, suggests that Echo will be a noteworthy addition to the MCU. Cox was joined by the likes of Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, Graham Greene, and Zahn McClarnon in the series. The show was directed by Sydney Freeland and Catriona McKenzie. There is no specific date planned for Echo’s debut in 2023, although that year is a good guess.
