a clip from the historical drama Railway Children, about a group of youngsters dealing with the aftereffects of WWII. One of the most cherished British films of all time, The Railway Children, was released in 1970, and this narrative serves as a sequel. The film, which will have its world premiere in the United States in late September and stars Jenny Agutter (Call the Midwife) as Bobbie Waterbury, will have its international debut in the United Kingdom the following month. Bobbie was one of the children sent to Yorkshire, especially to a cottage near Oakworth Railway Station, in the original film, which was set in the early 20th century.
In the new instalment, a fully grown Bobbie will observe other children being evacuated from British cities as the threat level rises from frequent bombs. The teaser explains that just as the kids are beginning to feel at home in the country, their world is turned upside down when an otherwise routine game of hide-and-seek results in the discovery of a deserting soldier. The trailer for Railway Children hints that the film will find its power, like the original, in the friendship made between the victims of severe conditions, and how children and adults can become each other’s light in the darkest of times, despite the hazards and the awful war scenario. Morgan Matthews, director of A Brilliant Young Mind and a wide variety of documentaries (including the When Harry Left Hogwarts episode of the Harry Potter film series), helms Railway Children.
Matthews has won many British Academy Film Awards. In response to treatment by producer Jemma Rodgers, Danny Brocklehurst (Brassic, Accused) penned the film’s script (Vicious). There are many other notable actors in the cast, including John Bradley (Game of Thrones), Beau Gadsden (Rogue One), KJ Aikens (Modern Love), Austin Haynes (The Duke), Jessica Baglow (Gentleman Jack), Hugh Quarshie (Red Sparrow), Neil Hurst (All Creatures Great and Small), Tom Courtenay (45 Years), and Sheridan Smith (The Hobbit) (The Teacher). On September 23, the film Railway Children will have its world debut.
