The first season of Euphoria premiered in 2019, and the second season premiered on HBO earlier this year, so fans are no strangers to long waits. The third season of HBO’s dark and trippy drama about a high school class’s struggles with drug and alcohol abuse seems to be a ways off. HBO has published an official blooper reel from the set of Season 2 of Euphoria to keep fans satisfied and offer them a rare opportunity to laugh. The YouTube channel dedicated to Euphoria features a hilarious comedy clip that highlights a lighter side to the often heavy-handed drama.
Especially after the emotional depths that were explored in the second season, the show’s return to lightheartedness is welcome. The blooper reel features several hilarious outtakes, such as when Angus Cloud gives Maude Apatow his real phone number, Zendaya has trouble getting out of a trash can, and Hunter Schafer has trouble getting into character for Brokeback Mountain. The short film, clocking up at just over four minutes, provides peeks into the slip-ups and mistakes that occurred during some highly difficult occasions.
Jacob Elordi and Sydney Sweeney, two of the show’s mainstays, also make appearances in the highlight reel. The new video published today also provides an opportunity to think back on Season 2’s events and be ready for possibly major changes in Season 3. Zendaya, the show’s actress and executive producer, said in a recent interview that the third season would follow the characters through college. We don’t sure what this means for Zendaya’s now sober Rue or Sweeney’s broken Cassie Howard. Is it realistic to expect Nate Jacobs to enrol in university? This seems to be a remote possibility.
No matter what, there will be plenty of time to wonder where the series’ tumultuous cast of characters is headed next. Sam Levinson acts as the show’s executive producer in addition to writing and creating Euphoria. Besides Drake and Future the Prince, the executive producer’s list continues with names like Ravi Nandan, Kevin Turen, Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein, Ron Leshem, Daphna Levin, Tmira Yardeni, Mirit Toovi, Yoram Mokady, Gary Lennon, and Jim Kleverweis. It’s based on a similar Israeli show and is co-produced by A24.
