Fans of Prime Video’s The Boys, a superhero series, have been waiting anxiously for news of the show’s confirmed fourth season since the end of season three at the beginning of July. Showrunner Eric Kripke has hinted at a return to Canada, where the show’s first three seasons were shot, suggesting that the cast and crew are reuniting. A tweet from Kripke just before he boards a plane to Toronto, Canada, serves as the tease. After this, The Boys’ official Twitter account tweeted, “Just some folks flyin’, nothin’ else to see here.”
The post included a photo of Kripke’s trip, as well as photos of Antony Starr (Homelander), Chace Crawford (The Deep), Karen Fukuhara (Kimiko), and Jack Quaid (Hughie) flying separately. This has led to rumours that production on season 4 of the critically acclaimed series is ready to begin. Karl Urban, who plays Billy Butcher on The Boys, spoke to Steven Weintraub towards the end of June, and at the time, he claimed that production for Season 4 will begin in around two months. “Yeah, I believe the 22nd of August will be the premiere of season four. I’m excited to go home and turn on Butcher again.
The cast is great to hang out with; we put in our time and have a good time, and I’m excited to see where the writers go with the characters once this season concludes. Tomer Capon, Jessie Usher, Colby Minifie, Erin Moriarty, and Laz Alonso will all be back for the show’s forthcoming fourth season, in addition to the previously stated actors and actresses. Fans are still holding out hope for Jensen Ackles and Dominique McElligott to return in Season 4, despite the cliffhanger ending of Season 3.
Cameron Crovetti, who played Ryan, Homelander’s son, in seasons 2 and 3, has been promoted to a series regular, while Valorie Curry and Susan Heyward have also been revealed as joining the cast as the superheroes Firecracker and Sister Sage, respectively. The animated spin-off The Boys Presents: Diabolical premiered in March, and a young adult series centred on superheroes attending a college controlled by Vought, Gen V, is set to premiere in the near future. As of right now, Season 4 of The Boys has had no more announcements made.
