A Netflix renewal for a fourth season of Love, Death, + Robots was announced on Instagram. The anthology series’ third season premiered in May of this year, and it had nine new episodes. There is currently no confirmed premiere date for Season 4.
Each episode of Love, Death, and Robots tells a brand-new narrative in a different animation style. Comedy, drama, and even horror are all represented in the show’s numerous episodes.
One unique aspect of the show is the revolving door of voice actors that portray the main characters. Guest stars have included Joel McHale, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Topher Grace, John DiMaggio, Elodie Young, and Chris Parnell. The critical reception for Love, Death, and Robots on Netlfix was overwhelmingly positive. The show has been a huge success, garnering 12 Emmys and a strong fan base among adults who like cartoons. “[t]e way I felt is that there was not a lot of adult animation in the west, and definitely not in America, and not at the budget levels that allowed for very high-end CG like what was going on at Pixar and DreamWorks for kids,” stated executive producer Tim Miller of the show’s appeal to adults. He went on to explain, “and we believed it was time to do it for grownups.”
Miller is joined on the show’s executive team by Jennifer Miller, David Fincher, and Joshua Donen. Its supervising director is Jennifer Yuh Nelson. The Netflixgeeked Instagram account announced the announcement of the new season with an animated image. Multiple colours strobe over the screen, and the words “Volume F***!” appear. Also included in the article were three thumbnail photos depicting the series’s three defining characteristics (that is, a heart for love, an X for death, and a little tiny robot head for, well, robots).
Netflix’s Love, Death, and Robots debuted in March of 2019. Season 4 has not been scheduled for release as of yet, although episodes from the first three seasons are now available on Netflix.
