Sinking Spring has been given a series order by Apple TV+. Peter Craig, the writer of Top Gun: Maverick, and Ridley Scott, the filmmaker of Gladiator and winner of both an Oscar and an Emmy, have teamed up to create this new programme. Brian Tyree Henry, a candidate for both an Emmy and a Tony, will star in the show. The series was only announced today, thus there is no specific launch date. Two Philadelphia best friends, pretending to be DEA agents in order to loot a rural mansion, will be the focus of Sinking Spring. If they go through with the plan, however, the relatively harmless theft will rapidly escalate into a matter of life and death.
One of the largest drug pathways on the East Coast will soon be exposed thanks to the efforts of the two pals. Dope Thief, written by Dennis Tafoya, is the source material for the show. This is Peter Craig’s debut foray into television, and he plays many roles over all eight episodes. One episode of the show will also include Craig behind the camera. Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker, Jordan Sheehan, and Clayton Krueger are the executive producers for Scott Free Productions. Tafoya will be the series’ consulting producer, and Henry will act as executive producer. Apple’s collaboration with Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions has grown with the addition of this series.
The firm has an exclusive first look at all Apple TV+ original series produced by their company. Also, this is Henry and Apple’s second collaboration. The revelation arrives after the recently announced Apple Original Film Causeway, which will debut in cinemas and on the Apple TV+ app later this year. Henry also had a starring role in the last season of Atlanta, created by Donald Glover. Also starring in Bullet Train are Brad Pitt and Henry. At the moment, you can see Bullet Train in cinemas. Peter Craig is the son of legendary actress Sally Field and is a novelist and screenwriter in his own right.
The Hunger Games trilogy, The Town (2010), and the 2022 box office sensation The Batman (starring Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne, a millionaire playboy turned vigilante), all use his work. Given how recently the project was launched, further details and casting announcements are still to come. We may have to wait sometime to see this project through to completion.
