There will be a fourth season of Love, Death, + Robots on Netflix, as revealed in an Instagram post. The anthology series’ third season premiered in May of this year, and it had nine new episodes. There is no official word on when Season 4 will premiere.
This animated anthology series features a fresh narrative in a variety of animation styles for each episode of Love, Death, + Robots. Genre-wise, episodes are all over the map, ranging from comedic to dramatic to downright terrifying.
The show is also famous for its frequently changing voice cast. Actors Joel McHale, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Topher Grace, John DiMaggio, Elodie Young, and Chris Parnell have all been on the show in the past as special guests. Upon its initial release on Netlfix, Love, Death, + Robots was hailed by critics. The show has a passionate following among adults who like animated TV shows and has been nominated for 12 Emmys. According to Tim Miller, the show’s executive producer, “[t]e way I felt is that there was not a lot of adult animation in the west, & particularly not in America, & particularly not at the budget levels that allowed for really high-end CG like what was going on at Pixar & DreamWorks for kids.” To continue, he said, “and we believed it was time to do that for grownups.”
Miller isn’t the only one behind the scenes of the animated series; David Fincher, Jennifer Miller, and Joshua Donen all have executive producer credits. The show’s supervising director is Jennifer Yuh Nelson. Instagram’s Netflixgeeked account was the medium for the animated season premiere announcement. The words “Volume F***!” appear in white text over a multicoloured background.
The article also featured three little graphics that represented the series’s three defining characteristics (that is, a heart for love, an X for death, and a little tiny robot head for, well, robots). The original airing of Love, Death, and Robots on Netflix occurred in March of 2019. Season 4 has not yet been scheduled for release, although the first three seasons are now available to watch on Netflix. Netflix has announced a fourth season, and the news was shared on Instagram.
