Bones and All, Timothée Chalamet’s cannibalistic love story, will debut in cinemas on November 23. A new teaser trailer was recently revealed. In his latest tweet, Chalamet promotes the film’s director Luca Guadagnino and draws attention to the film’s gory themes by using three blood droplet emojis. The two previously worked together on the critically acclaimed film Call Me By Your Name. The film Bones and All was inspired by the novel of the same name by Camille DeAngelis.
The 2022 Venice Film Festival will serve as the official premiere of the film. In this brief preview, Chalamet provides the first glimpse into the dark new tale. At the start of the trailer, Lee (Chalamet) is shown cuddling up to Maren (Taylor Russell). The scene then shifts to a succession of close-ups, including Lee, Maren, and a few other unfortunates, intercut with breathtaking imagery of the wild and beautiful American west. The new teaser gives simply a taste of the film’s true meat, which is that Lee and Maren are cannibals on the margins of society who are travelling across the country.
A coming-of-age love story, Bones and All follows Maren as she falls in love with Lee, a vagabond who is already on the brink of insanity. The screenplay was written by Guadagnino’s frequent writing partner David Kajganich. Kajganich’s style of writing may be experienced in the 2018 Suspiria adaptation. Starring alongside Chalamet and Russell are Michael Stuhlbarg, André Holland, Chlo Sevigny, David Gordon-Green, Jessica Harper, Jake Horowitz, and Mark Rylance. The film’s executive producers are Guadagnino, Chalamet, Kajganich, Theresa Park, Marco Morabito, Francesco Melzi d’Eril, Lorenzo Mieli, Gabriele Moratti, and Peter Spears.
Executive producers include Giovanni Corrado, Raffaella Viscardi, Marco Colombo, and Moreno Zani. The marginalised are frequently driven to acts of desperation and left with a broken sense of self, which will be explored in the new film’s exploration of topics of social acceptability and disenfranchisement. Chalamet made a trail of highly cryptic tweets that alludes to the new teaser and its “boney” aspect before he finally announced it.
On November 23rd, audiences may watch Bones and All in cinemas.
